Ps. Ashish & Amy Answer Your Questions On Dating & Marriage:

Q: What if a person has never ever dated, is arranged marriage the only solution?

Q: Does the Bible set any rules and standards for dating? Please mail me the scriptures if any.

Q: Is dating essential? Is it Biblical?

Q: One problem I commonly come across in society: a man and woman have been dating. Both are unbelievers. One of them gets saved. Should the relationship be discontinued?

Q: Considering Biblical standards: Prov. 30:18, 19 mentions “ ..four things which I do not understand: ..and the way of a man with a maid..” I feel dating is not at all necessary. Please comment.

Q: In consideration of ‘parental consent’ – how important is it if your parents are NOT Christians and their only problem with your chosen partner is that she IS a Christian? What should you do? Also your parents don’t know that you are a Christian.

Q: Will dating help me get a right partner?

Q: Is it right to share your past before you get married? But knowing fully well that God has forgiven you for the relationship you were in?

Q: I understand that sex before marriage is wrong. But how can I control my motions/infatuation/seduction/pornography, etc.?

Q: What is your opinion about divorce where the marriage cannot hold anymore?

Q: What about relationships with wife, parents, friends, etc. after marriage? Can you please give some light on this matter.

Q: Is it Biblically correct to remarry after being divorced?

Q: Is it a Biblical principle for a son to separate with his parents after getting married?

Q: The Bible says not to do anything that will bring criticism against yourself. If I am seen alone on a date with someone, will I be a stumbling block to another Christian?

Q: What is the difference between western/foreign and Indian relationships?

Q: How far is the word ‘adjustment’ relevant in the married life?

Q: According to the Bible, ‘woman is for man’. Why can’t she be an individual? I may be wrong, please clarify.

Q: How do we know that we are marrying the person that God has chosen for us, the right person?

Q: You talked about waiting. I would like to ask, what if a girl loves a boy and he also loves her very much. But the girl is older than the boy. The age is a problem. And the boy’s parents are not going to agree. Then in this situation what should they both do?

Q: If a person A gets attracted to a person and finds that person B has a romantic interest in this person A but is already committed to person C, what should A do?

Q: If you really love someone whom you don’t see everyday or monthly or years but communicate through phone or email and understanding, will this relationship turn into marriage?

Q: Is love marriage better than arranged marriage?

Q: Don’t you think dating is dangerous as it may lead some to sin?

Q: From your own personal experience, has love for your spouse changed, has it grown?

Q: About engagement, how long - in months and years - should it be?

Q: Can long distance relationships/marriage survive, eg. 2 people living in 2 different places due to unavoidable circumstances? What do you do in such a situation?
